Wood or Laminate
Your Cabinets Deserve a Facelift with a Cabinet Resurfacing
For many clients, cabinet resurfacing is the best fit for their needs and budget when rethinking their kitchen or bathroom design. We work with people across the City of Roses to offer full-service cabinet resurfacing, and many have loved the results. Whether you have wood or laminate cabinets, resurfacing is a great option to keep costs down while still delivering a new look and feel in your space.
What is cabinet resurfacing?
Unlike a redesign, cabinet resurfacing or refacing keeps the structural cabinet boxes in your home and replaces the exterior facing components. Depending on your specific design, we can do everything from replacing doors and drawer fronts to refinishing your existing doors with a new stain or color. Everything is customizable in terms of the look, and with our finishers, you will enjoy a polished cabinet front that looks and feels like custom cabinets, without the cost.
What are the benefits?
Cabinet resurfacing offers several benefits over replacement. This includes the cost difference, which can be in the thousands when you compare the costs of semi-custom or custom cabinets vs a resurfacing service. Also, because replacement or refinishing happens without disrupting your existing cabinet structure, you don't need to remove the dishes, glassware, and spices from the cabinet. Plus, replacements can be completed the same day, while refinishes take a few days to dry before being reinstalled with new, improved hardware, which means you can still use your kitchen or bathroom while we finish the service.
Laminate
Just like our wood cabinet work, we are also happy to refinish laminate cabinets, which are extremely popular here in Oregon. Our first step is to degrease the cabinets, then scuff-sand them to remove the factory sheen. Next, our team applies a high-adhesion bonding primer from Sherwin-Williams, then paints two to three layers of topcoat to bring out the color and create a strong cabinet finish that matches the factory look of these cabinets.
